Dear Ms. Amber Amplebottom,
Such a delight to receive your latest postcard. The old train station! I haven't thought about it for years and years. Yes. Mother would still disapprove of your visit, however brief.

You have been in my thoughts too. We have a new family member, you see. A little puppy which Kevin named Chase. That's right Amber - I have a new Chase in my life. Seeing the puppy and Kevin playing together can't help but bring up memories of you and me and our old dog Chase running wild in the back woods.

I have deliberately withheld photos as I insist on a visit. You must come and see for yourself. Ruth has been busy fixing up the spare room and we both insist you join us this Christmas. Kevin and Linda need an aunt and you are just the sort of aunt we had in mind.

So come for winter break and meet the new Chase. I've stocked the liquor cabinet and we will surely be up to snow good. Just say yes.
Hope to see you soon,
